OCDI (Open City Design Institute) will be contributing to the Venice Biennale 2020/2021
OCDI Winnipeg _ Beta is a ‘project-shadowing’ program organized by STUFF (studio for transformative urban forms and fields) during the summer/fall of 2020.
Participants [Agents] will ‘visit’ and ‘shadow’ the design projects developed and managed by Winnipeg design firms [Studios]. The ‘close observations’ of the projects, in their various stages of the developments and the executions, will inspire the Agents and demystify the design practice/projects.
As the open network of shadowing takes place, the city becomes a stand-in for the campus and design-practices become the pedagogy. Through this network, OCDI seeks to challenge the conventional framework of ‘school’ and forward its mandate: City as our Campus | City as our Project | City as our tomorrow.
OCDI program is intended to build capacity and network in designers and within the design community.
OCDI, as an invited program, will contribute to the FUTURE SCHOOL at the Korean Pavilion at the Venice Biennale 2020/2021, curated by Haewon Shin. http://fsvb2020.kr/
A selected/curated parts of the OCDI Winnipeg Beta outcomes will be documented and presented at the Biennale as Demo/Beta.
